I don't see how this would be possible in anything other than sand with a normal drill. It would certainly go in better.These are definitely durable though. They should last a long time. They even included a 14mm 1/2 drive bit.

There are 4 of these ground anchors in the box along with 4 carabiner style screw on tops to put on once the anchors are in the ground. Everything is well made and should easily stand up to some abuse.Comes with a 1/2" drive socket to attach power tools for screwing these into the ground.You could use a 'good' drill with a lot of power to drive these into the ground but I choose to use an impact wrench. Torque is the key factor in driving these all the way in. If you didn't know, a mid sized impact driver will produce 4-10 times the torque that a normal drill does. Why not do it the easy way?Yes, you can use a ratchet or a long breaker bar and attach one or the other to the socket and do it the hard way. There are several ways to get these into the ground. Do it however you want to.What would you use these for? The description offers some suggestions but if you are like me you can think of other things too.Quality product. These are solid metal and are built to take the forces needed to install. The anchor comes in two pieces with the long anchoring rod and the separate latching clip that screws into the top of the rod once it’s set. The anchoring rod contain a six sided top that’s allows you to use a 9/16” ratchet head to install. I installed in very poor dirt and it required a lot of force to sink the anchoring rod into place which I accomplished by way of an impact drill. Without that tool it would have taken forever by hand (which is due to the ground and not the anchoring rod). So big picture is the rod took a ton of torque and kept making its way into the ground without and issue.These things are tough and built to do the job you need them to do. 5 stars in my book.

This is a robust design for a ground anchor! Ideal for anchoring tents and canopies or yard decorations. The way it's designed, you use a socket (included) with a 1/2 drive hex adapter for your drill (not included) to drive these into the ground. Afterwards, you can thread on the carabiner style head that actually holds the tethers/ropes. As they mentioned, this just for clay or sandy soil. If you do have sandy or clay soil, these are definitely the anchors for you! They are incredibly strong and robust!
