A fraction of the cost of a Dewalt, this unit still gets the job done nicely. I use a shop vac also, so you get the suction of the sander plus the additional suction from your shopvac which eliminates most of the drywall dust. One thing to note, you have to keep this unit moving, standing still on a certain area will "oversand" and create tape exposure etc. So for feathering, use one of the light grit discs and keep it moving and results will amaze you, remembering clean mudding helps this step that much more.
Definitely recommend unless your budget allows for a more professional unit, then what the hey, get that one as it would be minimally better. I have used the Dewalt on prior jobs and love that unit, but the price on this one sure puts it in the playing field for me.

One of my best purchases to date is this one. These should have been released years ago, in my opinion. Compared to hand/pole sanding, the drywall sander created less dust and saved a tremendous amount of time. The surface was easier to view thanks to the lighting, and the dust bag attachment performed admirably. A little practice will have you sanding like an expert. You do need to be careful not to sand through the drywall paper, especially with a fresh piece of sandpaper. What a wonderful time saver!

Removing popcorn from ceilings, figured I’d give this a shot as hand scraping -sanding sucks. Some dust (so cover furniture and electronics), but it is compound, paint and popcorn, so did not expect total dust free. For the little bit of dust left in the room, I had about 10 pounds of popcorn and dust in the bag - so it works well. Did the job in less than a quarter of the time hand scraping would have taken. Quite pleased. Relatively inexpensive compared to $2,000 unit a co-worker bought, and I think it did just as good a job. Dust and ear protection are good. The safety glasses that came with the kit are crap - use a good pair of goggles.

I recently purchased a Drywall Sander kit and I must say, it has everything you need! My partner and I just bought our first house and it needed a good bit of work. This kit has been a game-changer for us. I was able to hook up the hose to my shop vac with a bag filter, and the result was virtually dust-free. It's been such a relief to have this sander kit to help us with our home renovations. Highly recommend!

This drywall sanding tool is a powerful and versatile machine. Although it is sold as a drywall sander, it can be used on floors too. It comes complete with 9" sanding discs, a dust collection bag, vacuum hose extension and connectors, a safety kit, some other accessories and a quality bag for storage and transport. The unit does take a while to set up at first but after a couple of times it becomes fairly simple. The main handle folds open and locks together with another insert for connecting the suction accessories. You get 26 feet of cord which is plenty to work with and a 10 foot hose. I've opted to use the vacuum hose with my shop vac for improved dust removal as although the bag is effective, a strong vacuum suction greatly improves the dust collection. The handle has a built in speed dial for adjustment and the sanding head can pivot freely for automatic leveling. The head also has a detachable segment that allows you to get very close to edges as needed. Using it on a wood floor is easy enough but when it comes to walls and ceilings, this unit is heavy. It can take some time to get a good technique and position for sanding walls but the overall weight does make this challenging. I'm planning to use this a lot in the coming months.
